VDOT Route 171 (Victory Boulevard) Right Turn Lane Extension Project York County Virginia Department Design Public Hearing Thursday, March 28, 2024, 5 - 7 p.m. Kiln Creek Recreational Center 2801 Kiln Creek Parkway, Yorktown, VA 23693 Find out about the proposed improvements for the right travel lane on westbound Route 171 (Victory Boulevard) from points 0.036 miles to 0.215 miles east of the Route 171 intersection with Kiln Creek Parkway, encompassing a total project length of 0.179 miles. Come see the proposed plans to extend the westbound Route 171 right-turn lane at Kiln Creek Parkway by 700 feet to connect with the existing acceleration lane at the Walmart Supercenter exit, creating a fourth westbound lane. Creating this additional westbound lane intends to improve the weave area for motorists destined for Kiln Creek Parkway and Interstate 64 and reduce both angle and rear-end crashes that have occurred in this area due to maneuvering conflicts. The widening will occur on the outside of the general-purpose lanes, and all of the work will be performed within the existing right of way.
