Virginia Department of Transportation VDOT Route 199 (Humelsine Parkway) Project Pipeline Study James City County and City of Williamsburg Public Information Meetings Monday, September 19, 2022, 6-8 p.m. Laurel Lane Elementary School 112 Laurel Lane, Williamsburg, VA 23185 Tuesday, September 20, 2022, Noon - 2 p.m. Williamsburg Community Building 401 North Boundary Street, Williamsburg, VA 23185 https://www.virginiadot.org/Route 199ProjectPipeline Find out about a preliminary transportation study assessing potential safety and operational improvements along Route 199 (Humelsine Parkway), between Brookwood Drive and John Tyler Highway (Route 5) in James City County and Williamsburg. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze transportation issues along this corridor and its intersections, with a focus on congestion mitigation, safety improvements, and enhanced pedestrian, bicycle and transit access. This analysis of the Route 199 corridor also includes potential improvements at the Route 199 intersections at Brookwood Drive, Jamestown Road, John Tyler Highway, as well as John Tyler Lane at John Tyler Highway. The potential improvements presented are only preliminary and are not scheduled or funded as a construction project at this time. The study partners may consider the improvements for possible advancement through future local, regional, state and federal transportation funding programs.
