WILLIAMSBURG JEWELERS Her husband passed away not long ago. Mes. H wanted to give a meaningful gift to her daughter that represented the love in their decades-long marriage and in their family. She brought me their wedding bands and she selected two colored gems, his birthstone and her own. She asked that we create a pendant for her daughter to wear - one that would be symbolic of their marital and family bond. The look on her face when Mrs. H picked up her completed item earlier today said it all..the emotion was real. She was so happy at the thought of gifting the completed pendant to her daughter. When there is a meaningful pair of wedding bands (and possibly an engagement ring) that belongs to a couple, and one or both of those people pass away, we help keep their memory alive by creating a keepsake pendant using all of the rings. The rings are laser welded together, a bail attached, and the diamond or gem is set anywhere within the pendant that my guest chooses. Mrs. Lasked me to suspend the diamond into the center of the pendant. She provided her own Figaro chain and.. voila! A beautiful heirloom that she will cherish forever. My guest brought me her engagement ring that had been cut off her finger a few years ago (due to arthritis) by another jeweler. Unfortunately. that jeweler damaged her ring very badly in the process. Mrs. W brought her ring to me, assuming that little could be done to allow her to wear her treasure again. She thought I was going to have to completely re-make her ring for her (which still wouldn't have solved her issue with the fit due to her arthritis). To her amazement, we were able to repair all of the damage done by the other jeweler AND we installed a type of mechanical shank to allow her to wear her ring again! The shank opens, slips over her enlarged knuckle, and then closes to fit her finger perfectly.
