The project includes the addition of one travel lane on l-64 in both directions from the New Kent/James City County line to approximately 1.15 miles west of Route 199 (exit 234). This project will be the second of three "Gap" segments that will widen 1-64 from four to six lanes from New Kent County (mile marker 204.9) to York County (mile marker 233.3). The proposed widening will take place in the median of 1-64 within existing right-of-way.
